Many traditional treatments of mental disorders, including various types of psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy, do not provide adequate symptom reduction for clients; therefore, many clients diagnosed with TRD seek out nontraditional treatments such as ketamine. 

Ketamine can enhance personal growth and self-cognition, provide insight into one's self and surrounding world. It can also increase creative activities, broaden spiritual horizons, and help one to harmonize relationships with other people. 

At Mind and Health Psychiatry, we understand that being treatment resistant to medications can be frustrating and frightening for individuals. When patients decide to start ketamine therapy, we go above and beyond for everyone to understand the treatment fully and to be comfortable during the treatment. 

When the recommendation has been made to treat a patient with Ketamine, they will be assessed and qualified for the treatment. This is a selective process that is made by the provider once treatment resistance has occurred. Each patient must have two failed medications. 

During the treatment, patients are provided reassurance by having a provider with them, monitoring vital signs, and assessing their mental wellbeing. Patients are never left alone during the treatment.
